Currently, Data Science has become a new trend in this century. Peter Naur ( Founder of ALGOL 60、Backus-Naur form and Won the2005 ACM Turning Award). In 1974, Peter Naur had presented a concept of data science by the idea that computer science replaced with data science; yet there is a similar case, Dr. C.F. Jeff Wu, the statistic expert) had also presented the concept about “statistic is data science” and “The intersection between computer science and statistic will increase daily by the data and technology skills.” The Graduate Institute of Data Science, Taipei Medical University established in August 2016. Even though it is a new type graduate institute, our professors and students committed to making an innovative application by exploring the big data, which also could assist the enterprise to increase their competitiveness by using the technology of big data to analyze strategically. Yet, The Graduate Institute has been a part of many governments or enterprises’ research program from biotechnology to the library and Information Science, Fintech and so on.
