澳洲國家科學研究所營養暨基因專家Michael Fenech博士於9月12日下午受邀來國內參加國際研討會之便, 順道來訪邱校長; 並由彭汪嘉康院士,李飛鵬院長, 張武修國際長陪同接見.
Fenech博士於1985年於實驗室首次改良出人類淋巴球細胞微細胞核(micronucleus)的分析方法, 從此發展出世界各國數百研究室爭相採用的毒理與基因傷害研究, Fenech博士並持續推動多項國際合作計畫, 包括由世界上20幾個研究室共同推動的"人類族群微細核研究 (HUMN)"; 本校公衛所張武修教授為該計畫於國內唯一參與者; Fenech博士近年更將此研究與臨床疾病防治結合, 並推動與營養,老化,癌症治療的研究; 本校未來將與Fenech博士發展更進一步的研究合作.
