Abstract
In the present study, the effects of common dietary colorants on the color stainability of high-translucency zirconia crowns, which were immersed in three common beverages for a certain period of time, were assessed. A maxillary right central incisor resin tooth was used to prepare anatomic-contour crown-shaped zirconia specimens. A3-shade and high-translucency zirconia blocks were selected and milled. The crowns were assigned to three different liquids, namely cola drink, orange juice, and red wine, in groups of ten. Each specimen was measured three times and the color difference (ΔE) was calculated. Zirconia showed significant discoloration in all dietary colorants when compared to control group. The highest ΔE observed was with red wine, whereas orange juice showed the lowest one.
