Abstract
This study explores how transformational leadership fosters psychological safety among teachers in a Taiwanese elementary school. Utilizing Foucault's notion of power, the research employs a diverse qualitative methods approach such as literature review and qualitative oral histories. Findings indicate that leadership styles characterized by idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration enhance teachers' psychological well-being and job satisfaction. Conversely, classical top-down leadership negatively impacts psychological safety. This research highlights the importance of supportive leadership practices and open communication in creating a healthy and collaborative educational environment. The study contributes to occupational health and educational leadership literature by offering recommendations for enhancing teacher well-being.
